The Presidency of the Tuscany Region and Giovanisì (the regional project to help young people become independent), in the European Year of Youth and within the Festival of Europe, organise an event dedicated to youth leadership.
The initiative (by invitation – registration closed), in which 400 young people will participate including student representatives as well as girls and boys who are carrying out the regional civil service, will be broadcast live on Facebook (Eugenio Giani, Tuscany Region, Giovanisì, Intoscana.it and Fondazione Sistema Toscana) and Youtube (Giovanisì Channel).
The event will represent the culmination of a path of participation which, starting from February and until last April 26, touched the 10 Tuscan provinces, for a comparison between students and institutions.
In addition to Eugenio Giani -President of the Tuscany Region, Fabiana Dadone – Minister for Youth Policies, Eleonora Pezzarossa – Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission will speak who, representing the European Year of Youth Task Force, will illustrate the ‘commitment and renewed attention of Europe towards the new generations in what is the year dedicated to them and Cristina Manetti, Spokesperson of the President of the Tuscany Region who will make a speech dedicated to the women who make and have made Europe.
Stefano Massini, writer and storyteller, was also on stage, in addition to the some young people: Sofia, an institute representative who took part in the participatory process, Romina (25 years old, Caritas) and Alice (19 years old, Red Cross), who also carry out civil service in support of the Ukrainian emergency.
Leading the meeting will be Bernard Dika – Advisor to President Eugenio Giani for Youth Policies and Innovation.
The day will represent the starting point for a new phase aimed at consolidating the role of young people as protagonists and “active present” of the communities. In fact, a protocol will be signed, in the presence of the Presidents of the Tuscan provinces (signatories: Tuscany Region, UPI – Union of the Italian Provinces of Tuscany, Metropolitan City of Florence, Student Parliament) to structure these meetings in recurring appointments that will allow Tuscan students to meet at the table with the Region and Provinces every year.
At the opening of the day there will be the performance of the national anthem and the European anthem by a string ensemble of young musicians from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence, prepared by Prof.ssa Alina Company, in which she participates Ukrainian refugee violinist Veronika Dunyak.
The event is organized by the Presidency of the Tuscany Region and Giovanisì in collaboration with the Fondazione Sistema Toscana and funded by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service)
