In a city like Florence, so pervaded by beauty and art as to be declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 by UNESCO, the theme of knowledge, protection and sustainability of the Heritage is evident and topical as in few other places in the world.

The new generations, more and more involved and sensitive to civic and social issues, are fundamental links for the transmission of new strategies for sharing and protecting a cultural heritage that is substantiated by monuments and works of art but also by values and good practices. The workshop, based on Palazzo Vecchio, the civic heart of the city, will lead children to discover and define their role as Heroes of Heritage, depositary and promoters of a tangible and intangible wealth of history, calling them to activate their “special powers” to protect an heritage that belongs to all of us and ensure a sensitive and sustainable fruition of the city.

The activity was conceived in the context of the European project AtlaS.WH. The project AtlaS.WH has been realized by the Municipality of Florence, Florence World Heritage Office and relations with UNESCO, in collaboration with association MUS.E
